A two tone grey silk scarf with a variegated charcoal stripe inspired by a misty winter day on Skye with the dark grey layers of the mountains in the distance.
Made with the finest silk yarns, the greys of the warp have been vat dyed in silver grey and a darker grey, whilst the stripes have been resist dyed to give shades of charcoal with touches of white.
Made with the finest quality silk yarns, the wide stripes of warp threads have been vat dyed in a silver grey and a darker grey, whilst the narrow stripes have been resist dyed to give shades of charcoal with touches of white. The weft has been hand dyed in a soft silver for this elegant scarf.
The scarf has been meticulously hand woven in a 2/1 twill which gives a slight colour difference to each side of the scarf. It is finished with hand hemstitching, a fringe and a Skye Silks label.
Each piece is individually designed and has been carefully woven on a traditional 8 shaft floor loom, creating an individual and luxurious silk textile with a focus on colour and quality. This one-off artisan textile is finished with hand hemstitching and a Skye Silks label.
The Isle of Skye is also known as The Misty Isle due to having misty days with shades of greys and silvers in the sky together with steely greys and slate blues in the lochs and sea.
Jaine has created The Misty Collection celebrating the colours of the sky, mountains and lochs on the Isle of Skye in the ever changing weather.
Your scarf will be delivered beautifully packaged in a Skye Silks gift box.
